Which is the best artificial turf?
When you go online you will find many different suppliers of Artificial Grass. Most of these are batch bought from abroad without the quality control that our selected manufacturers guarantee. These imports vary considerably in the stitch per square metre through to the quality of the thread and the durability and longevity of the backing materials. This is important as some longer and less well made grasses can be flattened by heavy rain or garden furniture and/or need sweeping regularly to raise the pile. Others are so substandard that there are stories of people whose lawns have been damaged by a hot sunny day.
Many installers add sand to help stop both problems, however this provides an unnecessary layer where weeds can establish. A weed membrane underneath will not stop such weeds as their seeds land from above floating in on Summer days or via a bird’s digestive system. (Please note that research has shown that Silicosis can occur with the inhalation of fine sand particles.)
